Client Found Not Guilty of Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon
Client was riding in a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic violation. After the driver consented to a search of the vehicle, police found two handguns and drug paraphernelia. Client was charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. The day of trial, Client was offered time served in exchange for his plea of guilty to the offense; therefore, he would not have to serve any more time in jail or pay any fine or court costs. After discussing the case with Ms. Kennedy, Client decided to continue with a trial. At trial the State introduced the guns into evidence and the police officer testified that one gun was found underneath the seat that the Client was sitting in. After cross examination of the officer and closing arguments, the Jury found Client Not Guilty of Unlawfully Carrying of a Weapon. Client is now eligible to have the arrest and charge erased from his record.
